Perhaps one of the better rums in its price level. Sweet, but also with a bit of a alcohol bite. Still, nicely balanced.

I think this is one of the best ways to spend $30. It's a different profile for sure, something that stands out from my other bottles. Lots of banana, pineapple, sugar, and a touch of spice. It's a little more subdued than the Original Dark, but smoother, with a better finish. This won't replace any of my favorites, but as something a little different, I'll definitely keep one on the shelf.

I do like this one. Good flavors, sweet (but not a total sugar-bomb), hints of the cognac finish come through nicely. Better than any other Barbados rum I've had close to this price point. Easy all around. I've got nothing to complain about on this one - short finish that is not overly remarkable, but I can live with that. Hits it out of the park for the price.

I have downgraded and adjusted the rating to better fit my continuing experiences with rum.

The Barbados is a tasty offering with hints of vanilla, caramel.

To be honest ive no idea why I've said it's surprising good. It is after all Plantation produced. Now, is it as good as Ron Zacapa? No, but that shouldn't put you off it as it's a fine rum and you should definitely order it. Do it now! Nicely spiced with a reassuring colour it lets you slip into a night of Son Seals blues. A few of these along with Sons early beautiful tones and you'll be thanking me. You're welcome.

Agree with others that this is worthy of being the little brother of the XO. Good enough to sip, but inexpensive enough that you don't feel too bad mixing if that's what you want at that moment. Always keep a bottle stocked on my shelf.

less complex and interesting than the XO, but otherwise very close. More bourbon-oak in the nose and a relatively "smooth" if uncomplex finish that is sweet and tasty. No need for ice.

A great rum, soft fruit, great on its own or as a mixer base. Better than many much more expensive

This is a very good three part rum! Lovely spicy beginning with a vanilla middle and a sweet Demerara type finish.

EN: interesting for its price. a bold rum with a scent that is somewhat reminiscent of others from the plantation. although it uses sugar in many of its plantation rums, it manages to please with its mixtures of island perfumes and aging in cognac barrels.

when you open the bottle the smell of alcohol strikes you, does not try to hide , it's very obvious

both in smell and in tasting I felt strong caramel and some vanilla, the shock of alcohol is strong in taste too but it is a pleasant burn, it has only a slight burn on the throat but mainly burns only the mouth. There is something pleasant and fragrant sweet left in the pod, which you feel for a while after the alcohol has faded.

That's all I managed to catch on the first night when I tasted it, but the next night I went back to my conquest) and was left with the idea that the aroma is anise.

a pleasant experience, a decent rum that is worth the money.
