El Ron Prohibido Reserva 22-Year

at a shop I saw Rammstein rum, asked if the guy if he knew the rum. He said that people who bought it, told it wasn't a good rum. Instead the Prohihido 22 yrs would be a better choice. Saw rhe review after i bought it and was a bit curious. Was it the right choice? Don't think the choice was wrong. It isn't a very good rum, but I like it. Easy to drink.

The El Prohibida Reserva was a bit of a surprise to me, as it was much more flavourful than the regular premium sipping rums. It is a very dark coloured rum and the flavour is a sharp treacle with a roasted sweetness, joined by clear notes of chocolate and coffee. This is likely due to additives or very flavourful barrels used for aging, perhaps the barrels were burnt inside, but it doesn't really detract from it at all!

It starts with sweet taste of peach, followed by very bitter tones, it fades off with time, strong alcoholic aftertaste.

Have to give this a try. Just received as a gift. Will report back soon
