Canada | Flavored | 21% ABV

Malibu Coconut Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and blended with coconut and sugar. The brand is owned by one of the world's largest spirits producers, Pernod Ricard.

Currently produced in Canada, Malibu Coconut rum was originally made in Curaçao from fruit spirits flavored with coconut and rum. The original recipe was developed as a shortcut for bartenders making Piña Coladas, however today the stands on its own.

Good in certain mixed drinks. Not really good to drink straight.

This is only a mixer. I dont know what else to say. By itself, its overbearingly sweet and gross. The taste of coconut isn’t even real. I refuse to drink this anymore unless it somehow finds its way into my liquor cabinet after a party.

I am not a coconut fan. My wife loves it with orange juice

It's not really a rum is it? It works as a flavouring in cocktails but little else. I should probably just stock coconut water and add a real rum to that instead but it doesn't expire so it's useful in that sense.

Ok, everything has its place. If you are new to alcohol and trying to tip toe into something besides the Miller Lite keg at your frat party, this could be your rum. It’s like coconut rum candy. But you can’t drink this and look like a man if you are older than 25. I used to drink this with blue curaçao and Midori. Forgive me rum snobs it was Miami in the 90’s. Freaking everything was cool just because it was Miami in the 90’s. You wish you went to college in Miami in the 90’s. I couldn’t afford anything on South Beach except at Mango’s where my buddy was a tender. So, Malibu sort of felt like an upgrade. I may drink again for nostalgia like I did with Boone’s farm Strawberry Hill and Cisco. Malibu is still better than Cisco but doesn’t lead to nearly as many random acts of stupidity though.

To put it simply, this is not even a rum. This is a joke, like a 'whisky-cream' based liquor with a lot of added chemicals you don't even want to know, imagine drink!

Never drink it straight. I only use it for certain cocktails and it is okay for that use. Nothing special. Good to mix.

It’s ubiquitous and I don’t like looking at the bottle behind the bar, but it’s a necessary evil and staple. So. Yeah. It’s malibu. Move on.
