Canada | Flavored | 21% ABV

Malibu Coconut Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and blended with coconut and sugar. The brand is owned by one of the world's largest spirits producers, Pernod Ricard.

Currently produced in Canada, Malibu Coconut rum was originally made in Curaçao from fruit spirits flavored with coconut and rum. The original recipe was developed as a shortcut for bartenders making Piña Coladas, however today the stands on its own.

I admit this started it all for me so I have a love of Malibu. I keep some in my fridge just incase i want to add a coconut flavor to my coke which is delicious. Overall not really a rum as I no have acquired a taste for real rum, but not bad if you like sugar haha.

Imuse this all of the time to make cocktails for my wife and her friends. I would not classify this as a rum, but when the recipe calls for coconut flavor, this is a solid choice.

There are better coconut rums out there. Project 173 is one example.

A staple to any cabinet, pairs well with coke. Has hints of rum, coconut, and palm trees

Mailbu is a fantastic drink. You can add it to almost anything, and you got yourself a decent cocktail (Malibu and coke is pretty good, malibu and pineapple juice even more so).
It's also drinkable neat, if chilled. It just tastes like artificial coconut if that's your thing.

Enjoyable but not rum

Cheap inexpensive mixing rum. Very sweet, coco nutty and hints of rum. Not a sipper, unless your under 21 years old.

Great with: Cola, orange juice, pineapple juice, and Island Cocktails ( a base for Pina Coladas-add dark rum to it). For mixing, not bad, but there’s better coconut rum.

I haven't had this in ages, and that's because I'm not a teenager anymore. Great if you like Pina Colada's and cocktails etc, if you don't, then leave it alone. As with everything else in life, it serves a purpose for someone, somewhere, but it's not really a rum. A girls drink. There, I said it...

Good rum, sweet and flavorful. Straight, is ok. Great for mixing. Fanta piña colada with this is a great starting mix.

This is the drink for you.
Let's be honest and call it out for what it is. Nobody's drinking this as a serious rum but it has its place.
