I drank it in its pure form, as well as with juices, and cola. This is good for both cases.

Plantation original dark is full body yet smooth. Vanilla, molasses and sweet toffee. Nearly an 8. (Behind 10 to One)
I really like all rums made by the Plantation company. They know what they are doing. I usually don't care too much for rum that tastes like rum. (that first type we ever have, that they copy in food flavourings) This has that initial element but grows into being very enjoyable.
Iβm not a big dark rum fan but this really hit the spot for me. Had a nice aroma as soon as I opened the bottle. The flavour I noticed most was black licorice but it want over powering. A very balanced flavour.
At $22 this is one of my go-to dark rums...I finished one bottle, liked it well enough to upgrade to Plantation 5-yr Barbados for my second purchase, and just purchased another jug of Original Dark. It's a bit to raspy for me to enjoy neat, but is good slightly diluted with ice and mixes well in most anything calling for dark rum...seeing as how this is December, most of my first bottle went for hot buttered rum. For my second bottle, I saw that 1L was only a buck more than 750ml and I've been exploring the Cuba Libre--other rums don't mix as well as Coke. As general-purpose rum I prefer Doorly's XO for a few bucks more, but it's often unavailable so I've become a repeat Plantation buyer...I've now tried several of their varieties and I don't find them to be the ghastly sugar-bomb confections that other reviewers claim. They're popular for good reason, IMHO...they're very affordable but it doesn't taste like you're compromising, and as mixers they often taste better than pricier rums.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

One of cheapest Plantation's emissary. And suprisingly one of the very good ones. Beautiful bottle with content description. In nose very fruity , notes of caramel, tobacco - contains all of perfect rums should have. Much worse on the tongue , a bit too harsh , not sure if recommendable for sips, but perfectly for mixers. Definatelly I would buy again. (for drinks)
