One of the best affordable Havana Clubs there are, really smooth and tasty. Highly recommended.
I picked up a bottle of this in the duty free shop in the Dominican Republic on the way home. It was much stronger than I expected when I tried it neat...almost to the point of it resembling a cognac...but the flavors settled and emerged as very complex yet pleasant. I drank the rest of the bottle in a rocks glass with a cube or two. This is a repeat buy the next time I get a chance. Probably great with a cigar.
Enjoy with a good Cuban cigar and some handmade pasta and truffle oil.
Very very good sipper. Well worth £40 and the rest. Enjoyed it many times watching some quality live music.
Had the last bit of the bottle at a friend's. Lovely!
Doesn't mix well and for the price there's better around. Slightly weird taste that I can't put my finger on.
I really enjoy this rum. From the well-designed box that it comes in to the classy and sturdy bottle, everything has been well thought out.
I'm always slightly hesitant when trying new Cuban rums because of the often strong tobacco nose but I'm happy to say this one has a very delicate, almost flowery nose on it. The first taste goes down smooth and has a very minimal burn aftertaste.
All in all a great sipper and I would buy it often if it was available in the states.
Buen ron calidad/ precio, algo fuerte en nariz y garganta debido a sus 45° mas deja disfrutar su sabor a frutos secos y madera
Honestly, this is one of the best rums I have ever drinked. I love acually almost everything about it.
Color: It has beautiful golden color, slowly coming from gold to amber.
Smell: It smells really nice and you can smell much less alcohol from it than from cheaper Havana Club rums. How to describe its smell? Well, what smell you imagine when you say Cuba? This is that smell. A smell of Cuba.
Tastes: And then you taste it. It is pretty strong, as you would expect from Havana Club but the strength is camouflaged skillfully. Its taste is surprisingly smooth for its strength and you can find tones of tobaco and nuts inside it.
I definitely recommend buying this rum.
I really like all of the Havana Club rums I've tried, but this is something else. I got some oaky vanilla notes and a much bolder flavor than I'm used to with Havana Club. The extra 5%ABV also has a bit of a kick you don't see with their other rums.
It was a bit harsher than I expected, but the taste is great. Usually I'm a big fan of using good quality rums in cocktails, but I save this one for special occasions only! (partly because it was a gift from my gf - maybe)
It smells of apricot and peaches.
"Well blended and well-balanced spirit that it’s smoothness shines through. There is very little roughness or aggressive spirit tones when sipped."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

As you would expect: soft but distinct smell of tobacco, grea also with Havana club's taste enhancers like honey, island fruit or coffee, check out their "bitter truth" choices
