Cuba | Gold | 40% ABV

Havana Club Añejo Especial is a blend of rums aged for up to five years produced from the fermented molasses of sugar cane harvested in Cuba. The molasses is combined with yeast and water, distilled using column stills, and aged in white oak barrels.

Havana Club was founded in 1878 by Jose Arechabala and later nationalized after the Cuban Revolution in 1959.

In my opinion just as good as the 15 year old Havana Club

Not bad, I've had better but overall it's pretty decent. Not as smooth as I like, but still ejoyanle

On the nose Havana Especial Rum smells like a whiskey rum hybrid with faint notes of vanilla. Drank neat, I found this rum quite bland truth be told. For me, it doesn’t really taste of much, bar whiskey,(not a fan) with tepid vanilla in the after taste. But credit where credit is due, there is very little alcohol burn. Mixed with Coca-Cola this rum transforms into something completely different than when drank neat. The coke makes the whiskey taste almost disappear and the vanilla more stand out. In fact, the vanilla taste is so unmistakable when the fizzy dark stuff is added, that it ends up tasting a wee bit like Admiral’s Old J Spiced, but not quite as vanillary as that rum.

Kifinomult lágy , hagyományos ízvilág, minimális illat, gyors lecsengés, de az összkép jó.

The first sip is very strong but after a while the taste is quite soft. Possible to mix and to drink it without mixing. Good purchase, cause the price and quality is good!

Bought this on a vacation where it was the best rum in the local store.
It was ok for mixing but I wouldn't buy it again.

I would have put easily a 6.5 but the app does not include 0.5 marks.
This rum is really good to drink with juice and can be drunk neat too. Good ratio quality / price.

Enjoyable rum. I mainly use it to mix but could easily drink a glass pure and still enjoy it well enough.

This rum is classic for mixing, but the alcohol is strongly felt. 7 year old version is much better

Va bene per un cuba libre e per qualche shottino, meglio del 7

It's a bit boring and uncharacteristic, but not in a bad way. Does not have any strong smell or taste, but is fantastic in both a Cuba Libre and Dark N' Stormy. It'd abit sweet by itself. This is maybe one I will keep in the fridge for cocktails, and not on the shelf.
