Cuba | Aged | 40% ABV

Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.

Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Not as strong on the nose as the Especial and the molasses treacle flavour in this is a bit more mellow. More refined drop than its younger cousin. Noticed that the closure leaks when the bottle was unopened and the cap on my last bottle of Especial as well would not secure after opening..

One of the first rums I tasted and liked very much. Although during my last holiday (in Cuba) I noticed that I don't like it so much anymore. As with all Cuban rums I don't like the harshness anymore.

Must be because of all the other (sweeter and smoother) brands I came across lately. Still: a very solid rum for a good price.

I'm Bourbon drinker, and this made me think of Jim beam Black. Quite complex and strong raste, dried fruits, toffee and tobacco. Not too sweet, I hate that they but loads of sugar in rums.

Buen ron, pero preferentemente para beber con cola.

When you don't want to deplete your good stuff this is the place to go. Good solid rum on the rocks with limes or the rum for a Cuba Libre.

The Cuban rum producers have sold themselves well as far too many people think that they are the best. Soft and easy drinking, but there isn't much depth and sophistication. Tastes a little mass produced. It's OK but unexciting and one that I doubt I'll ever buy again. For the price (UK about £23) there are many other rums that offer so much more.

I am not sure of this rum personally. Some of my guest love it when they come around others are not keen.

It is not complex but it is the best dribk to make a Cuba Libre with

A perfect rum to start with . Easy to sip, typical cuban style,i would confuse it with the 7Yo Ron Varaderos, but it lacks depth.
