OFTD acronym allegedly stands for Old Fashion Traditional Dark, but when a band of experts were locked away to produce an exceptional rum one of them shouted "Oh F*** that's delicious"... hence the actual meaning.
Indeed you'll be hard pushed to find anything nicer.
I like this for Tiki Drinks. It does not overpower the drink like Lemon Hart. It is a nice blend that works as added richness and bite and as a floater. I usually use a 1/4 to 1/2 oz of it in a drink with other rums.
Complex rum with a lot of flavor which shines through the alcohol burn.
Personally can't hack it straight, but easily drinkable with a dash of ginger beer, I'm sure most people who like a good rum over ice could. You can tell it's strong but it's less fiery than you may imagine, I'm quite partial to Jamaican rum so this isn't what I'm used to but for the strength there's nothing more drinkable. The flavour is incredible clear with obvious Jamaican and Barbados notes (I've not had enough Guyana rum to know).
Definitely not a sipper, but bought this for making many tiki drinks. Overripe bananas on the nose and a fairly long bitter finish. Not sweet, but loads of flavor.
Deadly strong but surprisingly smooth. Perfect to mix but nice sipper as well. Water does not do much but 1-2 drops is always good.
Sure the over proof burns but the flavors of caramel, chocolate and vanilla linger into smoky cinnamon, oak and molasses. The perfect sipper for a cold night! Great for punch too.
As first overproof rum it tastes intense and rich, puzzling. To fully understand and highlight all notes, recommending to avoid spiced food 2h before tasting and dilute rum with clear mountain water (eg evian).
For cocktail lovers, mix it with roy bush tea, honey or maple-based simple syrup.
P.S. if u're beginner it'll burn and taste like avarage cognac
Great sipper and fantastic in cocktails - nose is fantastic - deep orange, cinnamon roll with icing, milk chocolate - taste - can tell it is high proof but is caramel, creme' brulee, chocolate, orange, nutmeg - freaking delicious
It’s very intense, almost sickly sweet.
"It’s a sweet yet almost bitter, molasses heavy nose."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Outstanding blended overproof rum. Perhaps the best or even better alternative for the hardly available (in europe) Lemon Hart 151. Great for tiki drinks. One of few Plantation rums without added sugar.
