Abuelo XV Napoleon Cognac Cask Finish

Usually I give maximum 8, for a good product, but this deserves a 9. You can taste the cask, it is not only written on the bottle, like the other ones.

The firwt panama rum i have ever tasted and i am pleasently surprised. Intense taste with interesting aromas i think origin from the cognac casks.

Caramel, chocolate and vanilla in aroma; cognac barrel, sweet caramel and cocoa in the body; tail almost not noticable

The aroma this rum gets from Napoleon Casks is just great, with a delicate flavour and a fantastic finish.

Highly recomneded

It is good - for me equal to XV Tawny in terms of own rating. That sweet beginning, oakiness and cognac presence makes it special. A must try along with the other two Abuelo XV.

I didn't enjoyed Abuelo 12, so this bottle became some kind of surpise for me!

So I tried the other two XVs and I love the Oloroso finish. I had been waiting for this variety to pop up after numerous stores were sold out. Final delved into the Cognac finish and I'm ecstatic. It is everything I hoped for. I was going to describe the flavour but after reading the description, I can't do better than that. I shall be getting another bottle soon and so should you if you like a bit of a dry finish.

Woody and fruity aroma, soft profile with more wood, fruit, wine, brandy, warming with no burn, soft fruity aftertaste

It's an OK rum but not an experience I will repeat in a hurry. For the price and quality there are much better rums available.

It's too sweet for me, when I read about the rum it looks like 35g of sugar p/l.

The sweetness is a bit too much, with a short after taste.

Nice, but much better rums available.
