My son got me onto this drink, wasnt expecting to much as I think the packaging looks a little tacky but the taste was suprisingly good. Unfortunatly they have dabbled with a number of flavored rums which im not a great fan of to be honest. The mixer is used to flavour the rum, not the rum!
I really wasn't expecting much from this very hyped rum but was pleasantly surprised. Bottled at 40% rather than the 37.5 shown on videos I've seen. Very vanilla forward but not cloyingly so..
Some spices , very sweet and a bit of a burn at the finish. I actually preferred sipping this with an ice cube than mixing with coke. But I won't bother with the rest of their range... too gimmicky.
Really like the nose, brilliant mixed with coke. An absolute best buy at its price.
The cinnamon spicing of this rum strongly comes through and makes for a unique flavour.
In the rum group that I’m a member of on Facebook, DMF not only as a rum, but as a brand, polarises opinions, with some members saying they are to commercial and that to many chemicals are used, making their rums taste artificial. While others would argue that every single flavour is simply divine. As for me. Well I loved the coconut rum and this spiced flavoured one is more than ok. It smells quite vanillary at first, giving you the anticipation of this rum tasting more sugary than peppery. But oh no. What the good folk at DMF have somehow managed to achieve, is to create a rum that simultaneously caresses your tastebuds with sweetness and jolts them with a heated after kick. Now most people would probably say that having a rum that is both sweet and spicy in the same glass should not and does not work. But I politely disagree. Neat for me, I’m not so keen, as it’s a little to fiery for my sweet tooth to handle. But add Coca-Cola and this rum becomes a pleasant long drink, with a heated kick that will keep the cold at bay.
Very unusual flavour that I can’t place.
It’s not a bad flavour, and it does grow on you, but I can’t figure out what it tastes like.
I guess I’ll be forced to keep drinking it until I figure it out.
Pure a bit too harsh for me but mixed was kinda ok.
This rum is meant for mixing and not to be sipped. Good for a rum and cola.
It’s not all vanilla but the other notes are equally safe and equally popular. Cinnamon, citrus peel and some very sweet caramel.
"In actual fact the orange peel/marmalade notes really shine through. It’s reasonably complex – some nice more natural tasting notes of cinnamon, brown sugar and a little saffron spice."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A very enjoyable spiced rum, and very good value for money. Nice to enjoy a UK based rum.
