It is a 40% ABV rum from the island of Antigua with a minimum age of 10 years. The rum has been aged in bourbon and whisky barrels.

Bottle: Classic, nothing special.
Colour: Honey, slightly cloudy.

Aroma: Smoke and fresh wood. Slight technicality and resin, furniture polish. Also green flowers and coconut.
Mouth: Very watery at first. It is a very dry to bitter rum. There was burnt wood, whisky malt and coffee in the taste.
Finish: Medium long with a tartness on the tongue.

Summary: Quite disappointing. Mostly the wateriness and bitterness. All in all, not a very good rum. I don't know if it was a particular batch or if it's standard. I'll try to taste it again and then edit the review if I do.

Best of the available English Harbor rums (save for the no longer available 1981 I suppose which I have never tried). Not as complex as other Caribbean rums and not a lot of weight to it, but it's not thin, and the flavor profile does come through. Aroma is very pleasant with caramel overtones, but is probably better than the actual drink. Very easy to drink, though, and very good in a cocktail.

What I mean the 5 year is a great mixer this one could be drank straight or mixed. I bought my first bottle in Antigua for $40 definitely worth it. Now it $95 not a chance.

This rum has a lot of character and you can feel it when you first taste it. The first sip is strong and intense. It gets smoother after it rests in the glass for a while. In the UK, you can find it at around £55. I am not sure I would be willing to pay so much. I got it directly from Antigua at a much cheaper price (around £30), which makes it an interesting purchase.

Strong banana peel nose, the taste is quite dry, which kinda completes the peel analogy. Worth a try for the interesting nose, otherwise just ok.

N- Well aged rum (....nevermind the wood chips added), filled with nutty, herbs, raw spices, scents of floral and candy notes. Fondly influence by the oak, rather thick, not smokes but smoggy sphere. (86/20)

P- Molasses flow thru with bitter charred nuance. Weak body letting the oak shines, traces of aging are presence but rather flat on the distillate. (83/18)

F- Short-medium, pickled ginger and warm spices open up well, but single dimensional with lonely oak playing the soloist. (83/18)

B/B- 84/18. Do enjoy what it delivers on the nose.

This English Harbour 10 year reserve rum made from molasse has matured in ex-whisky barrels. Nice nosing reveals sweet notes of caramel, chocolate and cane which also define palate and finish. Overall this rum is very balanced and smooth, almost no burn. Nice.
