It tastes like cream soda. A rum that might be drinkable with coke or ginger ale. But like a 1p sweet it's not something to have regularly
Fine rum, deliciously sweetened, with a strong aroma of currant vanilla, gooseberry. This rum will not offend even an experienced consumer. Everyone should taste it.
And how does that get into rum?
Smooth, very sweet - good for cocktails but not a serious rum.
Smooth drinking rum with hints of Banana and a nice cigar!
I was fooled by the marketing on this bottle. Catchy bottle theme and based off of the claim of original recipe created by 16th and 17th Century sailor's makes you want to try it.
I was really disappointed on the first sip. There is a lot of added sugar and does not taste like Rum.
This is better used for putting on vanilla ice cream or making desserts.
This is way overpriced and I felt robbed by pirate's. Nice pirate bottle. No treasure inside unfortunately.
Since trying this rum it is hard to try anything else. Just down right delicious and smooth as silk. Others on this site complain that you can taste the alcohol but to me when a rum is so smooth that you forget about the alcohol and just enjoy the flavour, you have found something great. Perhaps as I become more sophisticated I will get their point but for now I will keep enjoying this great rum
Sweet and spicy for those who donโt appreciate the spicier, darker rums. This rum is candy and really fun to play with in cocktails. The cream variation is just as much fun and perhaps more appropriate. It certainly has one of the more appealing labels as well, but it goes to show that the old adage โdonโt judge a rum by its coverโ has some validity.
The nose smells very sweet. Llashings of caramel and toffee.
"It barely even tastes like alcohol in any way shape or form. No mid palate and definitely no finish not even the slightest hint of alcohol burn. Maybe a little bit of woodiness as it goes down."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I was surprisef when i saw 15y aged. I honestly don't taste the age tha much. If you compare it to other 15y old standard (ie ED15) it misses complexity, but !!! The taste is amasing good. I wasn't expecting it. Full of fruty notes on a base of vanila. Perfect for a summer, or after a desert. Less vanila then a dzama, more balanced, smooth sweet rhum. This was one of the 3 bottles i bought at the last rumfest. I just think the 15y complexity is missing (5/10), but as a spiced rum it's (9/10) so i give it a solid 7
