Only tried as a sipping rum so far. It is smooth with hints of vanilla and caramel. Some reviews object to the amount of banana and having read that I expected to be disappointed, but no! The banana is not overpowering and does not detract from the flavour. I enjoyed my first glass and will now try it as a cocktail base.
Does not taste bad, but in my eyes the "rum" taste is to much in the background, the taste of fruits is too strong
Deze rum is goe voor mensen die niets van rum kennen. Suiker bom
Sweet and tasty with a pinch of banana. I like it. Easy to drink.
If they made an air freshener I would buy it. Easy nose that’s complex. Banana, toffee, vanilla are the big 3 notes. Not spicy whatsoever, smooth and sweet from start to finish. You can tell it’s a seasoned/modified rum but it’s still an easy drinker. No ice required. I agree with someone else who said it was a hipster rum. Not really with the hipster thing, but a damn good starter rum for someone that’s never had one neat before. I wish it was 80proof here in the usa. To me it would be perfect if it was 84-90proof.
Sweet and tasty. It something else. Not a really great rum - BUT - it is interesting. Lots of banana and vanilla. Would recommend to try it if you are up for some long lasting sweetness
The scent is dominated by banana. The palate is overly sweet and the banana flavor is overwhelming. I mixed this with various soft drinks including coke and sprite. Sprite made it tolerable and coke turned into a juice. Lastly, the price is not right. Edit: Updating my rating from 3 to 1. As the bottle waited in my cabinet to be consumed, there was always literally anything else that I did rather drink.
We tasted several spiced rums, this is our favorite so far.
Very tough review. This tastes good. If you like banana it tastes great. It is smooth, thick and very flavorful. Coffee, vanilla and chocolate flavors. Small bite. Easy to sip. But do all these additives allow this to still be rum? If you consider Malibu, Blue Chair or Admiral Nelson rum then this definitely is too. And it tastes MUCH better. I give it an 8 because it is delicious, complex and easy to sip. Excellent pseudo rum!
Honestly among the worst rums I’ve tried. Tastes so overwhelmingly of banana and is a pretty adulterated rum all around.
Might make a decent cocktail but I haven’t found a good use for it yet.
The nose smells very sweet. Llashings of caramel and toffee.
"It barely even tastes like alcohol in any way shape or form. No mid palate and definitely no finish not even the slightest hint of alcohol burn. Maybe a little bit of woodiness as it goes down."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
