Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold

Avoid this rum it's a nasty excuse to get rid of cheap vanilla essence.

A simple classic mixer from my college days, it will always have a place in my heart. Going back to it now, it's a mouthful of vanilla, but still fun and drinkable.

Not a bad choice for a first rum, with coke it becomes somewhat of a starter drink. Caramel and vanilla evident, making coke a fine pairing but I switched to club soda to cut calories and the foul morning after taste coke leaves

Nothing wrong with it when mixed with coke. Pretty much cheap summer classic, but I cant find anything to enjoy when drinking alone.

What is there to say... Capt and Coke please. Not as good as others, but it works.

Not for sipping! okay for mixed drinks, wellpriced for that purpose.

Round and warm with synthetic taste of vanilla and arrak.
Mixes good with coke, and that's what it is: a mixer.

What may surprise people is that i rated Captain Cook Spiced slightly higher than this, Shocking because Cook is half the price, or even lower, depends where you look, but it doesn't mean my heart doesn't have a special place for this one. I Praise Cheap Rums, because they have something that the other ones don't - accessibility. I always love a rum that doesn't go on and on about slight hints of Yada yada and bla bla bla. Its only good if you blindly taste it without reading the explanation of what you should expect. 9/10 times i'm disappointed. This? It gets me drunk, sure, but more than that, It makes me happy that it isn't more than it says it is, nor is it less than it says it is.
