Diplomatico Reserva

This rum is good, but not that good, as his older brother Exclusiva. But for the price, you will not find much better rums. I can recommend it with no hesitation.

Plus simple que son grand-frère, ce rhum est néanmoins délicat et sans agressivité. Il lui manque juste un peu de complexité. Bon rapport q/p.

Although it is not as sweet as the Reserva Especial (positive for me) this 8yo Reserva is so much less fruity than its bigger brother so they don't appear to belong to the same family. It is a nice rum but don't buy it just because you can't find de 12yo reserva exclusiva because you would get disappointed like me. Need to try it again without trying to compare it to the 12yo. It's ok, but it could be smoothier and more fruity and caramel.
Edited: Just tasted the same rum but another bottle, must say something with my first bottle was not right. The second one was a lot smoother and simply better (can't define why, but it was better).

Bought this when looking for good value sipping and mixing rum. Rather disappointed , a little too smooth and characterless for my taste.
Works well enough in a few cocktails.

I only drink this with cola. It's not good enough to drink it pure or on the rocks!

Rhum d'entrée de gamme pour Diplomatico. Tout de même il pourrait être consommé straight. Pour ma part je l'utilise dans mes cocktails.

Pretty smooth, hints of vanilla and licorice. Subdued smoke/wood.

Sweet and soft taste. Little chocolate and caramel. But taste is little too thin to my taste. I need some stronger taste.

A good bottle for many uses but no so well straight up. Go for Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, that one will not let you down

Très bon rapport qualité prix. Son élevage lui donne une complexité que j'aime particulièrement.
