Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva rum is distilled from molasses in copper pot stills and then aged in small oak casks for on average 12 years before being bottled.
Produced in Venezuela, which has a rich rum history dating to 1896, the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva distillery is located on the northern slopes of the Andes mountains.

One of the simplest and easiest rums to get started!
It is a beautiful sipping rum before or after meals. Not a whisky taste as much as others but thatโs what I love about it!

Heavy, reasonably sweet, and overall well done, but for the price ($35-40), I would go other directions.

Like liquid velvet smooth and dark. Sweet molasses with a little Carmel. It's the only rum I buy now.

Not sure my opinion counts for much, but this was the first proper rum I've bought (i.e. not Bacardi or Captain Morgan) to drink straight. I have never really drank spirits unmixed before, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to drink.
Good enough to sip, Nose: molasses, candied prunes, vanilla, toffee and hint of sweet bean

If you wanna share a good rum without burning your credit card. Perfectly smooth, maybe a lack of flavors in second mouth. Still a must have!
