Very sweet, but definitely in a good way :) love getting home from work and having a scuuch. Great sipping rum. Never tried it mixed with anything, no need :)
mmmmh.. i really like this oversuggered Rum.
for this price you will not become a better one.
Delish! Love this stuff..creamy and vanilla/caramel flavors make it candy for big kids!
I should have read more reviews. The first few reviews raved about the rum without mentioning how sweet it was. The reviews deeper in the thread mention the sweetness. Way too sweet.
Perfect and smooth taste. Just have it plain and you will love it for sure. Enjoy
Un peu la même chose que pour les Zacappa.
Une colonne industrielle ne donne pas du rhum mais de l'alcool. Donc il faut bien faire quelque chose pour arranger cela, alors sucre, vanilline et copeaux de bois...
Superb. This rum is a top one. Just to have it simple or on the rocks. Nice color and superb aroma.

Much much better than the normal diplomatico reserva. This is one of my favorites
Certainly a "must have". I don't remember a guest that didn't like it.

This rum has an absolutely fantastic taste both in the mouth and aftertaste. It's aroma is heavenly. A must for anyone who enjoys a true rum.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is the first sipping rum I ever tasted. I enjoy it neat in a cognac glass or in single malt glass. I love the dark colour and the sweet caramel aroma.
I really liked it from the beginning, but didn't think it was that sweet until I tried the El Dorado 15, which is definitely more of an acquired taste. I guess that's why they call it
All in all an excellent "beginner" rum that I will definitely buy again as I'm already out of it!
