8:On the nose, first of all, there is a lot of sweetness. The caramel and vanilla complete each other with added tropical fruits, toasted wood and roasted coconut, dried red fruits. A light aroma of cinnamon is also noticed.Airing adds coffee, grapes at first, tiramisu with cookies after and at last a note of a Violet.👌
8:On the palate, it's really smooth. Here too the aromas of caramel and vanilla dominate, then a there is a little peppery note that completes the profile, certainly tropical fruits, dried fruits and roasted/woody taste, a bit after a while bitterness at midpalate ruins great roundedness from the beginning. Otherwise still 👍.
7,5:The finish is quite long and is divided between aromas of caramel, honey and vanilla, a wisp of drieness is felt.
Great sipper, smooth, gentle and of course, sweet. Nice price /performance. Great for an entry level. Probably the greatest rum for all kind of drinkers....No comment needed any longer... 👌

This was the first sipping rum that I tasted and it set me on the journey of amazing rums, so it holds a special place for me. I would definitely recommend it to beginners, but as my taste developed, it now tastes too sweet and not completely developed.

I have tried many Rums, and this one is a good all around sipper, It was also priced at about 30 + dollars. Would recommend to people who have not tried rums as sippers. Poor it over 1-3 ice cubes. Has a good balance and enough sweetness. It makes a great daiquiri too. Fresh 1/2 to 3/4 oz lime juice, 1 & 1/2 to 2 oz of rum, one teaspoon simple syrup, shake over ice and strain.
If this rum was $10 less it would be perfect. People are complaining about it being overly sweet which is a fair criticism however just because something is sweet doesn't mean it can't taste good. I do agree it is pretty sweet for the price you pay though

A true sipper. Adequate and not overly spiced nose and a delicate tingle on the tongue and ridiculously smooth going down. My first review, and I could not be anything other than the best, I’ve had.

When I first started drinking aged rums, this was my early favorite. I really liked the flavor profile, which is unique, but I'm not able to describe it in words exactly. Its quite sweet, but has more character than other sweet rums like Zacapa 23, which are fairly one-dimensional in flavor. I'd read other reviews here where someone compared it to a liqueur, and I understand what they mean, but don't really agree. If you don't like sweet then this one isn't for you, the added sugar level is very high at 41g, but the flavor has a spiciness that I haven't found in any other rums, but I'm still a relative newby at this. Its also a bargain at about $35 and usually pretty easy to find.
I was very new to rum when I first tasted this, and the similar Diplomatico Seleccion de Familia, so my palate wasn't very discriminating, but to me they tasted almost the same. The Familia has a bit less sugar, but its still fairly sweet and costs $50 vs. $35, so when I finished them both off I bought this one again rather than the Familia. I need to go back and compare them again now that I've tasted other rum styles and see if I would prefer the Familia today.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."
