Votre nez va pétiller avec des arômes de vanille et caramel ! Et que dire de sa souplesse. Ne pas hésiter à accompagner certains desserts 😉.
I bought this bottle after my first rhum fest. I tasted a good 30 rhums (some top rhums), and this one is the one i came home with. Note i was a beginner and i absolutly love vanilla, this bottle had it all. Loads of vanilla that come from the sugarcane being planted on the same vanilla fields, still not as heavy as the vanila spiced rhum dzama also has. Very smooth, loads of frute tastes (orange, banana, etc), it's a easy beginner sipping rum if you are into vanilla. Not very complex but i wasn't expecting that in a 3y old rhum. His 15y old brother is there for that. It's a perfect fruty summer desert drink. I'm trying to find desert to use the rhum in... Pancakes, creme brulée, etc. I'm sure that would pair well. If you don't like heavy vanilla stay away from this ! The bottle is a beauty and at 30€ a must have if you are into vanilla
Edit: upgraded my rating to 8,5. I have used 10 of my rums to try and make the perfect mojito. This was my last idea. I was expecting the vanila to be overpowered, a 'spiced' rum in a cocktail doesnt sound smart, man was i wrong. Best mojito ever. The light vanila after taste balances perfect with the rest. Trust me on this one. Try it, thank me later.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Apparently this is not a flavored rum. From the information found on the Rum Gallery, the super charged vanilla flavours of this 3 years old rum would originate from the soil and ecosystem of Madagascar.
The smell of bourbon vanilla is just too clean and up front for that. It's more vanilla centric than most spiced rums on the market, that are already too generous (generally speaking) on vanilla.
Don't get me wrong it's not a fake industrial vanilla smell, but still it's pretty much as close as sipping vanilla extract as you can get. The official website gives us no information whatsoever on it's conception, which is not re-assuring.
Leaving this one on the shelves.
