This will not be going on my wish list. To repeat what others have said, it tastes like a brandy, but for me it was rough even so. It continually caught me at the back of my throat, even with the addition of some water and plenty time to breath. Life is too short for this one I'm afraid.

Surprisingly good rum for only 4 years of maturation. Makes me curious about the more matured rums of Clement.

For the price (35/40€) you get a nice taste of an agricole rhum, but still it doesn't truly amaze.

At the nose is complex, and tasted side by side with the 10 years version is quite similar, with scent of toasted fruit and vanilla.
Definitely missing something in terms of taste instead, too harsh on the end and not really persisting.

More a 6,5 than a 7, which is mostly due to reminding the "older brother".

Edit: after trying the X.O. 6-year version I definitely reassured the persistence and complexity in taste of this version is not poor nor however rewardable with a 7. I suggest for the small difference in price to definitely go with the X.O. indeed!!

My 2nd Rhum Agricole after J.M. Blanc. I was expecting a lot more funky, grassy freshness but that time in a barrel really mellow this rhum out. I enjoy sipping this neat or in a Ti Punch Vieux. Complex but approachable.

Edit: Lowered from 8 to 7 after more experience with Martinique Rhums

My first aged agricole, and I'm really impressed.
I found the reviews on here a little hard to interpret, so went and tasted a couple at the shop and plumped for this.

I get a burst of brown sugar to start, which fades to a balanced finish of mild grassiness. There's a subtle burn, but it's all in keeping.

Ok, I get that it's different to a molasses based rum, but it still tastes very much of rum to me. I actually find Chairman's Reserve Legacy more divergent and challenging than this!

Barva do světlejších odstínů.

This is very smooth and easy to drink. It doesn’t have as much character as some but is very good.

I prefer the XO, but not enough to avoid this one. Here you can find more grassy notes than the older and for my taste is not a bad thing.
