It is at least 18 years old Dominican rum aged in ex-bourbon oak barrels. So it's not a solera.
The bottle has a nice chubby shape and each has its own number on the leaf on the neck. The cap is cork.
Color: It is dark amber and no colouring should be used.
Aroma: Vanilla dominates here. The smell is sweet, but from the beginning you can also feel a slight alcohol. I also smelled unsweetened creme brulle and almonds. At the end, the woody tones of oak are also visible.
Taste: Vanilla predominates in the taste. It is very soft and naturally slightly sweet. But K&S 18 is more of a drier rum. After drinking on the palate and on the tongue, it heats up, but does not burn. The end is slightly bitter.
Aftertaste: Medium long, fine dryness on the palate.
Dos Maderas 5 + 5 reminds me the most in taste, but Maderas is a bit sweeter. K&S 18 is again finer. This is a very recommended piece.

I keep this one and Pampero next to each other. Some days I like Pampero better, some days this one. Both are very similar in flavor profile, notes of tobacco, vanilla, oak and caramel. Fantastic stuff.

A little sweet with a bite at the end. A little pricey for the end result but is quality.

This maybe the 2nd best rum I have ever had. It is miles ahead of the 12 and just a little behind the 23. Nothing suprising here. It exactly what you hope for with a well done 18 year Agricole.

It's better than Kirk&Sweeney 23YO, my opinion. It's smooth and delicate, full body, great aftertaste, nice bottle.

Great oak and vanilla tastes/aromas with a hint of caramel, drink it with an ice cube or not, it's an excellent rum for nearly everything.
