This rum is a good argument why you cant judge rum by its sippability neat only because this rum doesnt really work that way and im sure its not intended to, as a mixer its quite solid, quite close to Myers, i have tried this rum with different tiki cocktails and the results are impressive so for that purpose you get a good value for your money as this is cheap rum. I know Captain has a very bad reputation but you should be rational and give compliments when its due.
Medium dark treacle molasses, medium light dunder flavors, slightly more alcoholic than the myers, and also bit flatter as myers is more rounder in flavour.
Not bad but doesnt just match the myers when mixed, the difference is quite small but myers does add bit more fullness in flavour to the cocktails and is also bit more smoother when mixed.
Does offer enough dunder funk flavour when mixed but still bit too mild for my particular taste.

Great mixer .....as most of Captains Morgan’s fleet is ....
I LIKE a dark rum ......looks great in my glass on the rocks .....but prefer it with my favourite cola....

The best of the captain morgan range but the range it only just better than a supermarket own brand rum

Drinkable at a push

It is forced with sweetenings. Only for cocktails. Too much alcohol that overcomes the taste. Very poor in aromas

Awful, just awful. Don’t drink it if you appreciate your body. Strictly for cleaning the drain pipes of your kitchen.

The taste of burnt sugar is a little to strong.

Straight rum, fine for a rum-and-coke, not for neat drinking.
