I Like this rum alot, it has some sweet notes in the nose and also a tasty sweetness in the mouth.. still it is complex and you can find a few different notes while tasting it more frequently. Great sipping rum!
Diesen Rum kann man gut mit dem Presidente Martí vergleichen. Finde beide gleich gut. Mir aber im Abgang zu unauffällig
At first I wasn't sure about buying a rum from Colombia.
However after reading some reviews I decided to give it a try and boy, I'm glad I did.
Nice coffee taste, while not being overly sweet.
Can see this appeal to a lot of people.
For me this was a hidden gem!
Not considered in my score, but also really nice presentation and excellent price/quality.
I have always been more of a scotch and bourbon drinker. Of all the rums I tried this reminds me the most of a Scotch or bourbon.
Silna chut, citit alko, trochu zapali na jazyku. Obecne silnejsi
I know the place to buy Hechicera at El Dorado Airport in Bogota. I can resist to go there whenever I go to Bogota. Excellent rum, beautiful bottle. On my list of my ten favorite. After trying so many rums, this is one to be part of my "active" collection.
I find this rum to be the perfect balance between oaky and dry, as traditional rum should be. Very appealing to any purist rum (or even whisky) lover!
I had the pleasure to sample this rum at a cigar pairing at Boisdales Belgravia. As a rum lover I have found a perfect match in this rum; spicy and drier than other light South American rums, it has a unique taste profile and its smooth as silk.
Nice rich smell of caramel and toffee with orange fruity notes.
"It is zesty and spicy with more pronounced orange flavour. There is also a red grape flavour which is very pleasant."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Boy! This is really good rum. There is a lot going on and a lot of subtlety. The nose is hard to pin down, but molasses, smokeyness, oak and sugar cane come through. Then when you taste it, it starts with much the same flavours as above and then gets a bit sweeter (maybe a touch of toffee and caramel), and then it finishes off quite dry but with a vague touch of a honey flavour on the lips. It seems to do an awful lot at a very good price.
Having read the descriptions here, I thought that this might be a little too dry and a little too oaky and smokey for my tastes, but it isn't - it's really very balanced between slight sweetness and slight dryness - that has to be down to good rum blending. This is definitely a top sipper, especially for the price - roughly 40 quid.
