Nose - Sweet, fruits, plums, raisins

Taste - Sweet, but not much, just right. Honey, raisins and spice. Little bit spicy. In finish I can taste a hint of anise and smoke. Long warming finish. Little bit stronger but balanced. I like it. Great stuff.

Uninteresting, overly sweet and one dimensional. Just not worth it.

Color: Lightish golden hue

Nose: Quite noticeable alcohol overnotes. Reminds me a lot of a whiskey finished in sherry barrels. The sherry finish given to this one really leaves its mark.

Mouth: Flavor and burn are almost entirely separated. Sweet tea with lots of sugar and a bouquet of tropical fruits (papaya in particular). A hint of bourbon sweetness is there too.

Finish: Average finish length that does leave a certain sugary residue feeling.

I was intrigued by the crafting of this rum. It’s a mix of pot still and column still and also a mix of aging in both bourbon barrels and sherry casks. Normally I am a huge fan of sherry cask aging but here it seems that sweet was laid upon sweet a little bit too much. This puts this rum in a bit of a pickle because it’s obviously not intended to be a pure dessert rum but it’s too sweet to be enjoyed for long as a sipper. Hard to recommend wholeheartedly for that reason.

The initial fiery taste dissipates soon, and you are left with sweeteness in your mouth. The aftertaste was quite ok. Based on tasting a 2cl sample.

OK rum with hinch of spices and sugar, but really forgetable.

Smells like caramel and campfire. Tastes a wee bit like scotch but just didnt have a lasting flavour. Its interesting but probably wouldnt buy in future.
