The taste is slightly sweet, but not too much. In short - it's just right for me.

A truly fantastic rum. An exceptional taste and finish. One of the best rum I have drank. Very intense taste of caramel, vanilla, oak, sherry, honey, etc. Very smooth! The color is special, a dark brown. Sugar added.

but still a 7. its the heavy sweetness which makes the caramell, banana, orange and vanilla merge to a sweet glue! :)
but if you like it sweet, this is for you!

This rum explodes in mixed flavors in your mouth. Sweet enough for keeping it in your mouth for a while. Deep enough to feel the wood, chocolate and honey flavors. Mixing this rum, even whit ice is a SIN.

This is simply one of the absolute best rum's that I have tasted. Sad that it also is one of the more expensive ones.

This is one of the best rums I have tasted. Definitely in my top-10. But it is not unique in the sense of being very different from other premium sippers. It's just down right very good.

Very fine rum, slightly sweet. A delicious aroma will develop in the glass. Very good with a cigar. The package is 0.5 Liter with a wooden base and a certificate.

That was new and great experience for me. I learned a lot about rum history and production (solera method), people who work at the distillery and, of course, something new about rum.
We had four sorts for degustation.

Opthimus XO
Unhiq XO
Cubaney Centenario
They all are smooth, great taste, unique sorts sharing common Dominican cane\soil\roots.
All has intriguing aroma, vanilla and fruits on palate, a bit woody. Definitely in sweet league. All sorts have long pleasant aftertaste.
The devil was in nuances )
(I think person next to me (beer drinker) did not detect any differences. For me that was more or less obvious).
So (AFAIR, one week later)...
1st was Punta Cana: super fruity, oily, likely most smooth.
2nd Opthimus: dark chocolate notes, with little alcohol kick on palate.
3rd Unhiq: the little kick on lips, rich and longest aftertaste.
Finally Cubaney: most woody and most of tobacco notes, less sweet.
All of them (classic solera) - must try for the rum connoisseur.
