La Hechicera Extra Añejo de Colombia Solera 21 Reserva Familiar 21-Year

Expectations were high, as befits a 21-year-old solero. The aroma is rich and enticing, but in the taste is not so. Unfortunately, there wasn't much flavor for me. One dimensional, generic. Maybe next time.

This rum is very dry; I don't get a lot of sweetness.

The bourbon aged finish gives it a nice smoky touch reminiscent of a good whiskey.

Tutto sommato un buon rhum accettabile, importante come sapore al palato, odore alcolico, meglio al palato che al naso, note importanti di Caffe , cacao amaro, e leggera vaniglia.
Un Rhum non esageratamente dolce dunque gradevole da bere, assolutamente da provare,

BIG flavor upfront. This will wake you right up. But it is surprisingly smooth. Nice bite. Cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom on the pallet. Again smooth. Decent complexity. Balanced but in a different taste pattern than most.
Good stuff with a nice medium to long finish.

Aroma is light. Taste is woody but less complex. Aftertaste only average long.

Caramel, vanilla and cinammon, in aroma; pepper, cocoa, dark chocolate in body; very mild coffee tail

It is definitely dryer, beautiful strong aroma, a nice alternative to a sweet round rum.

Dried fruit and vanilla on the nose, dry fruity flavour, another hint of vanilla and maybe a little nutmeg

Uuuufff hned z kraja po otvoreni a naliati, slusne ostra aroma. Chut horka a na chvoste velmi hreje.
Takto z kraja tam citit nejaku vanilku ale hlavne tu sudovost po ktorej ma aj farbu.
Po ulezani stale na ostrejsom spektre ale nieje to na skodu. Chut este horkejsia a kozena.
Paradoxne nieje tazky na sippovanie na cely vecer.

Nose: 6
Sharp initially, oak, tobacco, a little chocolate, coffee. Sultanas, pralines, almonds, more confectionary notes come to front after some time. A touch vegetal (green plantain), turnip then more oak & vanilla. It's a pleasant nose overall, not offensive at all, sweet but not sickly.

Palate: 7
Prunes, nougat, oranges, a hint of cooked peach/apricots, molasses, a little banana peel, incense, lots of prominent spicy oak.

Finish: 7
On the medium-short side, over steeped black tea, blackcurrant buds, juniper, a little marzipan & floral.
