Angostura 7-Year

Drinks easy, not much going on although its a pleasant rum.
Its very good bearing in mind it’s price

Nose:
caramel, butterscotch, demerara sugar, pipe tobacco, slight vanilla

Taste:
Toffee, vanilla, lime honey, sweet milk chocolate, spices, danish type pipe tobacco

Finish:
Short to medium

Very smooth, It might have some sugar added

Tasted at Laka Lono on 10/10/22. Buttermint sweet aroma. Sweetness and smooth if the redcap version. The black label is hot and hard. What’s going on with two of the same name?
Retasted on 10/17/23- still hot for only 86 proof. But I get quite a bit more spice notes now- clove nutmeg and cinnamon. The sweetness is their mid palate, but the finishing pepper burn still dominates. No change from my previous rating of 7.

The squat bottle with red cap gets the 7 stars - slight marshmallow flavor, nice aroma, smooth.
The longer bottle with the black lid is a bit more harsh and less aromatic

Tasted as #2 of 5 on a Labor Day Sunday Angustora Steph tasting flight gauntlet so I trust this rating more than the earlier one.
aroma: caramel and vanilla
This rum is a little hot. Kinda really pretty hot.

Balanced rum , value for money, can be used straight

Easy sipping rum. Not too complex so very good intro to rum for the masses

Needs to be drinking warm, which is a shame. Not bad, but it seemed like something is missing. I’d rather spend a couple bucks more and get a great tasting rum.

This rum has a nice spicy flavor and is not too sweet, but the alcohol aftertaste is just too pronounced for my liking and ruins it as a straight sipper. This is strictly a mixer for me.

Smooth, perfect for cocktails. On a sweeter side but not too sweet.

One of my favourite rum, i like it solo. This rum suprised me good
