Matusalem Gran Reserva 23-Year

Dry but not too much. Weak body and short aftertaste but still much better than Matusalem 15y

Tasted this following a meal in a Peruvian restaurant in Belgium, together with the Rum Nation Panama 23yr. and the Millonario XO. Now, besides eating some well seasoned Peruvian dishes, I had also consumed a significant amount of wine before we got to the rum, so I couldn't taste too critically, but I can say the Matusalem ranked last, well behind the Nation Panama and the Millonario. Slighty dissapointing.

Esperaba más de este ron, no es malo sin embargo la relación de precio y sabor no es la mejor.

Ziemlich süsslich in Nase und Gaumen. Rund und sanft, hinterlässt bei mir aber keine einen bleibenden Eindruck.

Got this rum as a christmas gift. Nice rum in the mid-range. Easy drinkable, the nose not very impressive. Taste, average but reasonably nice. In general not too bad but also not special. Same goes for the bottle.

Jämfört med sin 15-åriga broder så var denna mycket trevligare. Men för att vara en 23-åring så känns denna smaklös. Bra doft, fin förg och fin flaska men för mycket alkohol och ganska mesig. Tyvärr inget återköp….

Fin duft og dejlig lang eftersmag. Flot flaske. Kan anbefales

Riecht nur sehr schwach. Schmeckt anfangs sehr leicht, dann kräftigerer Eindruck. Schokolade, Orange, etwas Schärfe. Hat aber irgendwie trotzdem kein Profil, keinen eigenen Charakter. Den werde ich vergessen, da sind zum Teil wesentlich billigere Rums besser.

Tasted alone is better. I tasted it with a top ruhm so I was influenced.

Its a bit sharp but stil nice enough to drink "on the rocks" firts sip did not make a great impression, but after the first sip it seems to soften as you go.
