This is actually a very good rum with interesting body. But it didnt really get me so for me, something is missing there.

While very sweet, I love the smoothness of this rum. Lots of caramel. Almost like a liqueur

This rum caters to a particular taste. If you have it, lovely, if not, you probably won't enjoy it. Sadly, I am one of those who did not enjoy it. The nose is quite pleasant, showing lots of vanilla, baked fruit, and slight notes of oak and cocoa. Quite sweet, the fruit and vanilla definitely come through on the palate, with vanilla dominating. However, this is where the rum gets a bit different. Rather than having a cane or molasses sweetness to it, the sweetness is more maple, and quite bittersweet. The finish is oaky and maple.

Bottom line: give this rum a shot. If it is your style, it's a wonderful option for the price range (I picked up mine for $30.) If it isn't your style... well, you definitely could have picked up something worse! And it mixes fine with a good root beer, so you'll have options!

This rum is a very good sipping rum, I would never use this as a mixer or with cola ever. It has very nice and complex flavors and it goes down very smoothly. You get a little bit of a fruity and tropical flavor but it's not overbearing. In no way is this rum a flavored rum, other flavors include some vanilla and toffee and hints of caramel. It's a very fine rum and one I love straight up or on the rocks. This particular rum is also one of those rare rums that tastes different with the passing of time. If you let it sit in your glass for about 10 minutes you will get an even better flavor than when you first poured. A great choice as a sipping rum. P.S. if you do drink it on the rocks use only one cube of ice, anymore and you water the rum down.

I first sampled this rum in a flight of premium rums at a local restaurant. It was the star of the flight and has since become a favorite. Good sugar and molasses notes, hints of oak and bourbon, and a smooth long finish.

If you have never tried sipping rum, this is the perfect one to try on the rocks or neat for the first time. This is the rum that changed my mind about bourbon being the only good sipper.

Had a taste in the shop and my jaw dropped!
Imo it would be a shame to mix this one.
