Smells pretty bad but better than the Añejo smells. Taste-wise, it's nice and smooth. It's a small step up from the Añejo but it's also only a few bucks more. Semi-sweet and fairly tasty. I recommend trying it.
After the 12y version, which I didn't like very much, I tried even cheaper 7y, however I will have a problem drinking the bottle. Somehow we don't get along with those Abuelles ...
Nothing real fancy here, but for a lower priced rum it's hard to beat. Deeper color, nice aroma caney taste. An average sipper but tough to beat if you like just a splash of cola. Popular with friends who prefer mixed drinks.
This is just simply plain rum, nothing to strong, nothing to harsh, no flavoring, and no real defining feature. It goes down smoothly, no strong aftertaste, can be sipped alone. Tried as a Cuba libre , would not recommend it, a bit to harsh as a mixer, the alcohol taste comes out.
Compare this to other 7 year olds and you will be amazed how smooth and complex it us. This is a quality distillery that can do much more in just 7 years than most. It would take Bacardi 70 years to produce a rum this good. I much prefer the two oak and Centuria but this youngster is quality rum.
Dobry rum, prijemne prekvapil, chutil mi asi viacej ako 12 rocna reserva
Le rhum le plus sucré que j’ai bu. Arômes de vanilles et de banane. Excellent mais il faut aimer le style.
Fairly priced and very pleasant.
"A very good introduction to the world of sipping rum."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I may be in the market for a $100+ bottle of rum as a celebratory rum due to something that may be coming up for me. In the discussion area I asked for recommendations and Ron Abuelo Centuria was recommended. Unfortunately no one locally has that in stock and the best I could find was the 7 Anos Reserva Superior. So I picked up a bottle to try. I will say up front that I find this one of the best values for rum. Definitely a fine rum that could be sold for double the price. Right off the bat I noticed the rich aroma in the bottle. Sipping some revealed a very noticeable sweetness...perhaps too sweet for some...however it is balanced with a multitude of flavors that sadly my uneducated palate cannot identify. However after the slow, rather mild burn (yes, it is a smooth rum) faded, I could detect some caramel to it. And that tempts another sip. This rum is a bargain and should be a required addition to any rum cabinet. A "must have". Extremely versatile as well.
