Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.
Not an accurate representation of Bajan Rum. Sugared nonsense
fruity undertones through out nice lite rum with smooth finish probably good in mix
Bienoro pluta Rom paccata vesti brin !!!!
Questa assura oldi inakana laello.
Drink it, love it and drink it again :-)
Smooth, somewhat sweet and lots of vanilla
Här snackar vi banan! Lite mindre söt och mer av karamell.
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary Rum er en top klasse rom, som jeg holder meget af. Den har en stor dybde i duften og smagen er himmelsk.
First experience with Plantation was the Barbados 5 year and I liked that one a lot. Then I tried the 20th anniversary XO. Definitely a step up. A little sweet but balanced with the oak and a nice smooth finish. Highly recommended.
This is my favorite sipping rum. Smooth
Let sødme, super dejlig eftersmag.
Really nice bottle for gift. Taste is same as the cheaper 5 year old.
The taste is and interesting combination of many flavours. There's banana in the beginning and coconut in the end. Vanilla is a bit too strong.
Very tasty, very pleasant rum to sip and mix with. The bottle is also very stunning. (not the flat one, the other one)
Good mild rum
A very pleasant rum. Sweet ripe banana, vanilla and coconut comes to mind. The finish is lovely, smooth and sweet with a subtle "roasted" character. It's very well put together and has an elegance I find uniqe in many of the good Bajan rums. I love this style and this one is flirting with a 9 rating.
Ret sød, overvejende kokos, også lidt abrikos i smagen.
A very smooth, sweet, easy-to-enjoy rum. Maybe a bit too sweet for my preference, but definitively one to always keep in stock. If for no other reason than to have something to offer for those that are skeptical to rum. Everybody I've offered it to absolutely loves it. I have converted many a skeptic with this one.
Very sweet up front with a mellow rum flavor at the end. Delicious
great rum from plantation a little too sweet at my taste
The nose is quite sweet, with dried fruit, and a spark of coconut. The taste is quite sweet, fresh and balanced in the end. The after burn is good, its stays in, but not for long time. Sweet and nice, one of my favorite.
Plantation m'a habitué à de meilleurs assemblages. Celui-ci n'est pas à la hauteur du flacon, mais cela reste un rhum vieux correct.
Finally got a chance to buy a bottle today and tried it this afternoon... It's everything it's cracked up to be. Smooth, complex, smoky... almost bourboney. I'm glad I spent the money for this bottle, you can't go wrong with this one. Leave it to the French and their cognac casks, right? Something special going on here. I'd give it a 10, but I think Jamaica 2000 is still my favorite.
