A very good rum for the price. As a sipper it's a bit hot for my palate. Sweet upfront with vanilla and sugar but it dries out in the finish and is not too sweet by any means. Not as complex as I'd have imagined. I think this would be fine as a mixer. At less then a $20 bill it's a good rum and could be served over ice with a twist of lime as well. A really good all purpose rum!

Revised May 2019 - I've been using this a lot lately as one of my rums to blend in tiki cocktails and other mixed drinks. I'm raising my rating on this to a 7 from my initial 6 as this rum is excellent when blending with other rums and for use in a wide variety of cocktails. Solid product with not too much dosage added. A fine mixing rum that has many uses!

If you seek aromatic complexity , go away . Don't try to find aftertaste. It is not the purpose of this 5 years blend. But you can glimpse the assembly work from Plantation which has very good rum in its range. Good for beginners.

Tried this one and Havana Club SelecciΓ³n at the same time. Maybe that wasn't the best idea as the Plantation came in the shadow of the HCS, according to me.

This is super for varm chocolate and cream especially when skiing in the mountain but also when cold outside. If you miss better Rums for zipping this is okay for this purpose also.

I bought this room once on vacation out of desperation. However I was not terribly disappointed. Not a bad rum for the price.

Light golden, sweet, caramel rum with some vanilla and banana aroma. Goes down easily. I have a soft spot for barbados rum.

A nice sipping rum and also a nice mixer even though a bit too mild for tiki drinks but for a daiquiri itΒ΄s good. Mild, sweet, vanilla...and smooth.

Beginner here. Sweet and easy on the throat. Blacked out to a measuring cup of the stuff -- woke up with no hangover. That's a win in any book.
