I bought it in Dubai Airport, passing through, as I had never seen it before. Made in Cuba, not on the US market yet back then. It isn't the best rum ever, but I recall really liking it. I made a note to buy it again if I ever came across it. Not too sweet, not too harsh. Nice sipping rum. Personally, I give it an 8. One of my favorites. Then again, I'm not a big rum expert, but it's all personal preferences here, lol.

Beautiful bottle. Fruity and sweet rum. Very good price.

The taste is to much ethanol for me,short taste and thin, Alcohol burn is relatively strong and it is not very complex in taste or aftertaste. It is not bad though...

It's probably more of a 6 1/2. Really like it though. As a sipper it's very light. On my palate frustratingly (LOL) hints at many things: brown sugar, citrus, nuts, dash of tobacco. Best enjoyed on a hot summer day I would imagine.

Good aroma. Nice, amber color. Very slightly sweet. Feel the percentages.

Kind of sweet rum, much fulness in taste, though not long aftertaste.

I didn't have high expectations but this one was so balanced that I just grabbed the bottle and basically ran away with it. Very good harmony of typical rum notes. Nothing jumping out, just very balanced. And for that I rate it highly.

I was hoping this would be a wonderful and smooth drink, but I ended up with disappointment and harshness.

I want to believe that I got one of those bottles that was mishandled and stored inapproproately, and that was the reason for my poor experience here. This bottle uses a cork, and that was the predominant flavor I got... cork.

I didnt find this one to be overly memorable at all, except for the cork flavor.. I was both disappointed bu the flavor and the price, and have been reluctant to give this one another try. Maybe the bottle I got was shipped/stored on its side, and that's why the flavor of the cork was so prominent.

All I know is that I'm reluctant to buy another one, because I know that some other reviews have praised it... and I want to know what I'm missing here.

Compared to standard Matusalem seems very sweet, more delicate and less alcoholic taste.
