Havana Club 7-Year rum

Havana Club 7-Year

Cuba | Aged | 40% ABV

Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.

Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

I had to wait for some business travel to Spain when I was able to pick this up in duty free.

I have really enjoyed this bottle. Smooth, sweet but balanced. I have enjoyed it on the rocks, straight, and in cocktails. I think it's a winner all around, but I hesitate to recommend it to my friends in the US as it so hard to come by.

Very nice rum to mix with cola. Much better then a simple white rum. I like it!

I reasonable rum. I prefer to mix, because it is not smooth enough straight up

Havana Club 7y is a favourite mixer for me. It was recommended to me in local bar when ordering mojito as it will make it better (than 3yo) and I agree. 7yo makes mojito more tasty, more rich. I also like it in Cuba Libre. I have tried it neat and while it is not best rum to sip, it is drinkable. Still prefer to mix it.

If you're just getting started with rums, this is not a great first sipping rum in my opinion. Its dryness and bitterness qualities are something that took me a while to deal it. It's a complex composition with an emphasis on tobacco, therefore lacks that sweetness you'll find in other rums. The lower the volume in the bottle goes, the better it gets for me. Since I only sip this, I cannot testify how good it is as a mixer, but on its own, it can be a refreshing choice when it comes to rums.

Smoky liquorice taste, great from this cheap rum. Despite the price tag, this is a sipping rum to me!

Grundsätzlich ein soldier Rum und für besondere Cocktails geeignet. Zum Purtrinken ist er mir etwas zu scharf. Und der Preis ist deutlich zu hoch für das, was man bekommt. Man zahlt eben die Marke mit...

Over years my favorite until I started to compare with other rums. Now I know: it's good but there are better ones.

A nice, sweet rum with plenty of alcohol to go well with a Coke.
Double Havana and Coke is my go-to drink and has been for years.
