I was sitting on a mountain top in Nepal at the end of a long day's trek when a tiny Nepalese lady comes chugging up the path with a cool box in a bag on her back . Lo and behold , I found rum in Nepal , a Kukhri xxx . This rum will put hairs on your chest and remove tooth enamel . But I give it an 8 just for being there on that hilltop . Never did a rum taste so good as that one , leaning against my backpack and watching the sunset against Nepals 8000m peaks !
Certainly, this rum has defferent flavor from many othere rum.
I think this is very good fit to drink with Asian food
I enjoy this rum like that way.
Nepal....really? Snow, cold, Mt.Everest...rum...you have got to be kidding!
This is a rum that you would almost walk right past being that comparing rum from
Nepal to Barbados, or Jamaica, Puerto Rico Is like comparing apples to avocado.
It is a nice rum in that you get flavors that are not accustomed to most other rums that are available. Sweet spicy with heat from the pepper, ginger and nutmeg plus cinnamon rears its head nicely with dried fruit, oakiness to nutty flavor and tobacco.nice enjoyable rum.
Nice rich mahogany in the glass.
In the nose a little bit different, there are really extreme floral scents, orchids, frangipani, also incense sticks and old wood. It smells like in a temple.
On the palate it needs time to unfold and wants to stay a little longer on the tongue. Chocolate, caramel in all roasting stages, tropical fruits, orchids, spices, wood nuances are skilfully presented.
In the finish a little bit "burning" caramel and chocolate, the flowers stick on the tongue for a long time, a rum with very special scents and aromas, whether real or artificial, too close to a perfume for me. For discoverers and the brave.
I like rums that surprise me in a good way. This rums has flavors and aromas that I haven’t experienced in other rums (and I have tried a decent amount). It has an citrus/herbal aroma that I could not describe but it was very pleasant. In mouth, it is the first time I was able to identify the tobacco note which is something I’m proud of (my palate is evolving!)
Found this rum hiding on the very, very bottom shelf of some unremarkable liquor store in the wrong part of town for $12.99 and decided to purchase it on a whim. Lucky I did - this is one tasty, full-bodied rum! On the nose there's lots of caramel, buttery oak, vanilla, and an unusual almost citrusy-floral note that is hard to place. Going in, there's a beautifully bold, oaky-sweet character that quickly gives way to a spicy, woody note, that doubles up in your mouth and elegantly morphs into a peppery, molasses-like, lingering end. Very unusual aromas of treacle, raisin, and rubber tire. Some may think this to be on the sweet side; I say it is 'bittersweet' with some real heat! Wish I could find more of this stuff - it was the last bottle they had.
Well not very good but also not that bad. Smell is woody and smoky, little bit of spice. Taste is slightly better than smell. Flavours of oak, spice and sugar cane.. I would rate it 5,6...
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is a truly unique and great rum. Rum is my primary liqueur of choice and, given an option, I rarely shy away from it. Though I typically gravitate too black/dark rums, I picked up this nice caramel while stuck in Nepal for a few weeks. It is smooth and is great alone, or with a splash of pineapple.
But... What makes this rum a true gem is the ability to drink it like a fish, bottle after bottle, day by day, and wake up every morning feeling like a million bucks. My college and I downed gallons of this unsung hero of drinks. It was hot, dirty, and miserable, but we didn't care - we had Khukri.
