For not having a ridiculous age statement (18 years or whatever written in bold font,) this is the smoothest rum that doesn't slap you in the face with how smooth it SHOULD be. Supposedly it is 12 years aged, however the bottle doesn't tell that tale. Either way, this is like drinking silk. It's stupid smooth! There's also zero bite and its perfectly sweetened. While it might seem underwhelming to some as a result of all that (some people like challenges that let them know they're drinking booze,) this is my gold/light (because I don't use light) rum of choice when I make cocktails. It's not cheap but it's well worth the money, and yes, you can (and I do,) drink it Neat or On the Rocks too. This is one of my four essential bottles in my house and I keep two on hand at all times. Yes, it's that good and that important to my cocktail making. Buy it immediately!

Rum, který prostě chutná skoro všem. Univerzální rum pro všechny.
Love the taste of this rum. And it ain’t too pricey, especially on promotion. Can recommend everyone who is looking for a sipping rum.
I absolutely love this rum, sippable, rounded, sweet, silky smooth

The best rum I've ever tasted. Balanced in all respects. Smooth. Surprised. Very good. I recommend.

Very smooth rum and good day to day rum. I had more expensive rum not as good as the Diplomatico.
A rum I could sip on for days. Smooth and plenty of sweetness with a slight smokey aftertaste.
I typically go for rums that are not too sweet. This was a good one, but would have been better at the end of dinner. It was really good, but really sweet.
Finished more then 10 of this bottles. One of the best in this pricerange
I Tasted this rum at first on A Holiday in Austria and it loved it straight away!
At first it gives some woody and caramel/vanilla smell! First taste give some fruity tones with a very slight burn, in the aftertaste there comes some oak and caramel flavour to it.
I became a fan of diplomatico, ist very accessible to get your friends understanding the joy of Rum!
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Not bad ar all but there is some strange taste - not natural taste - something like orange manhatan icecream :)
