I have to say I find some of the negative comments about this little beauty a bit uncalled for. I also have to say I am no expert in Rhum but whilst people get carried away with the aficionado talk about it not being a Rhum because its too sweet, this may, in fact, be a shortcoming in their knowledge. I'm not going to go into a chemistry lesson about sugars but in summary, this sugary taste can also be achieved in the process without adding sugar to sweeten it and can be in fact a byproduct of the process and may be intentional for the reasons mentioned in the negative comments, however, it does not necessarily make it a liqueur. I and many others like this Rhum and that is what matters. It's a bit like people who say it's an awful wine because the experts say it is, when in fact it could be very nice. I think maybe the wording should actually read something like "it's a little/too sweet for my palette" not condemn it to not being a Rhum.

Great rum that tasts almost liqueur like with its sweetness. For me the sweetness is a little too much but if you have a sweet tooth this might become one of your favorites

Perfume, a little smoke and some caramel, vanilla and coconut. Silky kind of feel as it goes down. Nice golden amber colour. A little pepper.

This rum is the best rum Iโ€™ve ever had for the price. Itโ€™s a constant in the house and not only does the profile invite many different flavors, but itโ€™s smooth.

One of my favorites. Perfect balance of sweetness and spice

Very sweet, hollow caramel/vanilla, buttery. Almost sweeter somehow on ice, huge butter and cream, but still very sippable. Obvious (large) sugar addition, maybe too much but maybe that's the point here.

I tried it in the restaurant and I like the taste and flavor. Smooth rum good for sipping.

I really liked this. The only thing that got me is the sweetness. Itโ€™s not too sweet, but sweeter than what I am used to. The smell and flavors were great though. Would buy again, but will try others too.
