Delicious taste and finish, a great rum to start with if getting in to rum tasting.

Diplomatico is a great introductory rum tuned to the American palate. When someone's only rum experiences are with Captain Morgan and Bacardi, this is a great intro to some of the flavors rum can bring. The more experience I get with the spirit the less I enjoy the overwhelming sweetness Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva brings, but it will always have a place close to my heart for opening the door to rum for me.

Smooth at first, with flavors of smoke, vanilla, a little dark chocolate, and some fruitiness with some coffee notes near the end.
This was my first foray into sipping rum and it did not disappoint.
I'll always have a fifth of Diplomatico in my liquor cabinet. I enjoy it neat in a lowball or snifter.
Easily the best rum I have tasted. Being a rum newbie this is by far the bestest(!) rum of them all. Price and quality match awesomely. :-)
I am new to Rum, I found Bacoo 12 year which I have been drinking wanted to try something rated a little higher so bought this. I like this a lot but doing a side by side with the Bacoo - I will stick with that, This has nice color, caramel smell and is smooth. It has a lot of after taste so not as clean as my other favorite. The after taste is strong molasses. Good rum but could be better. I will keep trying new rums until I find that I love better than Bacoo.

This was the first sipping rum I ever had. I was given it as a birthday present from a teetotaller friend who knew I was a whisky hound and mistakenly thought this was whisky. I calmed him down by informing him that I was found of rum and coke and immediately tried it as such. on my first sip I could the the coke was hiding something so after finishing the R&C I poured a nip and discovered just how much I was missing out on in the rum world. best enjoyed with a nice Connecticut leaf wrapped cigar

Leve, adocicado, bem aromático, em rum bem diferenciado
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Interesting rum with beautiful and quite complex nose but very sweet (I would say too sweet) palate. Good sipping rum but only for those who can stand excess sweetness. Reasonably priced and widely available.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Sweet, dark dried fruits (prunes, figs, bananas), spices (cinnamon, cloves), tropical fruits, cherries, fruit caramel, orange peel, sandalwood and new leather on the background
Palate: Very sweet, cherries, oranges, “winter” spices, toffee and honey notes, some liquorice and oak come later
Finish: Medium-long, sweet, dry, oaky with cherry jam and latte aftertaste
