I picked up a bottle on my last trip to Nassau as I like trying spirits that either aren't imported into the US or just aren't widely available.
Aroma is pleasantly oakey, but is honestly a bit plain. Thankfully it doesn't have a strong alcohol aroma. Flavor is fairly smooth, but does have a very pronounced "char" taste. It has a nice burn going down, but there is a bit of a bitter aftertaste.
Overall not awful, but not great either. Definitely not a sipper to me, but it does make a fairly good rum and Coke. I will use the rest of this bottle for mixing and I doubt I'll replace it when it's gone. Just too many other better rums out there.
I purchased this bottle a few months ago in Nassau, the Bahamas while on the "cruise from hell". We promised friends to bring back rum. That, in of itself, is a long story.
Anyway, this rum has sort of a woody aroma in the bottle but I cannot find information if it was aged at all in barrels, casks, or something. The flavor is a bit harsh with little sweetness and a bit of bitterness. Makes for a really good mixer. Not a sipping rum in my humble opinion. This rum is completely unavailable in the United States (with the possible exception of some bars and stores in south Florida that make regular boat runs to the Bahamas...or so I've heard). If you're taking a vacation in the Bahamas this one would be a nice bottle to bring back as a conversation piece.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I drink a lot of rum. I get it as gifts from friends and family, I pick it up as a souvenir, and I try every new one I see. When I was on a rock and roll cruise we stopped in the Bahamas and I found this. It is absolutely my favorite to date. I can imagine a more perfect traditional rum, but I haven't tasted it. Smooth and delightfully sweet without being cloying, I do actually enjoy sipping this one. It does have a touch of oaken flavor that lends just a bit of a smoky aftertaste. As a mixer, especially for a Dark and Stormy, it is divine.
