My nose was very suprised, very fruity, and spicy, the color speaks for it self, almost no hint of wood. In mouth basically the same thing. Very interesting rum, feels like an experiment to me. But did I like it? Well...If it costed a half of whats its price I would like it and give it 7. In Czech rep. it costs cca 60 EUR and I expected much more in this price range. Some people dont approve my approach on rating, but I always compare price to the performance. Sometimes I give less points to better rum, if the price just isnt appropriate.
Received this cuban single cask rum at my 30 birthday. The coulor is very light and almost comparable to white wine. When you pour it into the glass though, you will find that it has great texture and clingy legs that slowly drips back into the rum. The nose is fresh and delicate with hints of citrusfruits, rubber and molasses. The palate is very interesting and to me, quite unique. There is a lot going on here. Roasted nuts, baking spices, citrus fruits,a bit of molasses and again that rubber character. It's a pungent affair, and I have not found rum like this before, but must say that I enjoy it.
