Diplomatico
Reserva Exclusiva
My personal favorite
So far, this is my absolute favorite rum. You don't need ice to mellow it out, it has almost no burn, but still full of flavor. I wouldn't dare put

Zaya
Gran Reserva 12-Year
Another favorite
This is another favorite of mine, almost on the same level as Diplomatico. This was my first top shelf rum, so it's safe to say it got me interested

St. Nicholas Abbey
10-Year
Fantastic
Had a dram of this at the Rum House in New Orleans. It wasn't cheap, at $14 for what was basically a little more than a shot. It was VERY good thoug

El Dorado
12-Year
Decent
I had this, the same time as Diplomatico Reserva. This was good, but not on the same level of complexity as the DR. It still had a slight burn to it

Old New Orleans
Reserve 10
Best of ONO
My favorite ONO rum, just not too keen on th price of $55. I would shell out $30-35 for it, but not more. I've had much cheaper rums that blow it aw

Alleyne Arthur's
Special Barbados
Price is right
Found this at Total Wine in Charleston, Sc. It caught my eye at only $10.99 for a 750ml bottle and the label didn't seem cheesy or cheap, like Malibu

Ricardo
Gold
Hard to get
Enjoyed a bottle of this one with my father in law, while visiting Freeport, Bahamas a couple years ago. Enjoyed it so much, we drank an entire bottl

Lemon Hart

It burns
There's no denying this is 151 proof. Had it neat, it burned, but it had lots of flavor as well.

Ron Abuelo
Anejo
Price wise
Definitely worth the money. I can pick it up at my local store for around $13. It's somewhat smooth, but still has a slight burn. A couple of ice c

Gosling's
Black Seal
Gateway rum
This is the rum that got me started on tasting different rums. It's sweet and has little burn. It works well by itself and a mixer.

Tortuga
Coconut
God coconut
I thought this was pretty good for a coconut rum, made a great mixer. Too bad I can only get it in the Cayman Islands.
6
Pyrat
XO Reserve
Meh
I felt this one was a bit too fake orange tasting for me. That's not to say it didn't mix well with coke, but not good enough to drink straight.
6
Seven Tiki
Spiced
Not bad
Even though the bottle "tries to hard" and doesn't pass my cheesy test, it is a good mixer and not too bad with a couple cubes of ice.

Plantation
Barbados 5-Year
Ok
Sorry, I wasn't that impressed with this one. While it was only $15, I've had other rums for the same price, that I thought were better. Had a littl

Old New Orleans
Cajun Spice
Not for me
I wasn't that impressed by this one. To me, it was like Christmas in a bottle. Too much cinnamon/clove spice for my palate.

Kraken
Black Spiced
Mix
Not a bad mixer, but a bit too harsh to enjoy straight. You can tell there's additives in it ad that it hasn't been aged long.

Malibu
Coconut
Too sweet
I had this one on the rocks, not by my own doing though. It was extremely sweet, thank God I had ice to water it down a bit.
