Swings with the big boys
Amongst my top 3 rums. Delicious flavour and a treat to sip. Not cheap or easy to find, but worth the splurge for your collection.
The best rum I've tasted
Fantastic sherry taste. A good splurge for a true rum drinker.
A 9 for a Bacardi rum???
Yup, I wouldn’t have thought so either! But this is top notch and worth the premium, so... here we are. Good for sipping neat. Anything else would be
Like sipping heaven
I didn’t think Angostura could do better than 1824, but... here we are. A very smooth, sippable rum.
Fantastic, but similar to the 21-year
This is definitely a premium rum. However, the only reason it didn't earn a 10 is because I didn't find it different enough from the El Dorado 21-year
XO 20th Anniversary
Excellent sipping rum
A wonderful rum to enjoy neat. Very clean finish and one I want to find a bottle of for my collection.
My standard drinker
Tasty, goes down easy, and a less expensive premium rum. Good for everyday sipping.
Amazing for sipping
Delicious and good for sipping. Better than the 1919.
One of the best rums that I have had neat. Amazing flavour and drinks like a good scotch. Expensive but worth it if you can find it.
Delicious to sip
A very tasty rum to sip, especially for a Dominican rum.
XO Extra Old
Excellent every day value sipper
Very versatile - is excellent on its own or with cola. A fantastic sipper that isn't too sweet. I find it of similar quality to Ron Zacapa 23 at almos
Not the best for sipping, great for mixing
If you’re in Turks & Caicos and you love rum, this should be your go-to. Great mixing rum and sippable neat. Skip the rest of the Bambarra line and go
Flor de Cana
Tasty but not far from the 12 yr
Probably more appropriate for sipping than the 12 yr, but not far off.
A surprisingly excellent rum from Hawaii
I certainly was not expecting the best mixing rum I've had to be from anywhere but the Caribbean. However, Koala Dark wins that prize. This vanilla fl
Good for sipping or mixing
A very inexpensive, good sipping rum. Great with coke as well.
Very tasty rum
Excellent rum with a nice citrus taste and finish. Very sippable.
Great bottle, great taste
Definitely one to buy for your collection with the neat, glass-blown barrel at the bottom. But the rum inside is also worthy of making it to the top s
A smokier Zacapa 23
Superbly tasty, very strong tobacco notes, and not as sweet as the standard Zacapa 23. Quite a unique flavour amongst rums and worth trying, but I’d p
Ron Marques del Valle
Excellent choice for the price
Sippable and an excellent mixer. Great value and a good gift choice as it has a cork and appears to be very high-end.
Solid mixer, decent sipper
Surprised me that it was as good as it was. Goes excellent with coke. Wouldn’t be my first choice to sip, but was decent enough to do that.
Standard mixer in TCI
Not the best, but solid mixer. Wouldn’t recommend it to sip - go for the Trouvadore for that.
Excellent mixer in TCI
Fantastic mixer. Barely sippable in a bind, but you’re better off with the Trouvadore for that.
Good for a mixer
Tasty mixed with coke, nothing special, but not bad either.
Good for mixed drinks
Not great for sipping, but great for rum and cokes.
Great for mixed drinks or sipping
The 1824 is better for sipping straight up, but this is still very delicious.
My standard for rum and cokes
Delicious vanilla taste. Wouldn't recommend sipping on its own, but makes a rum and coke super tasty.
One of the better mixers
Excellent for mixing with coke and not too expensive, but probably not great for sipping.
One of the best value rums I have tasted
For the price point (about $30 CAD) I was not expecting a very sippable rum, but that's what I got.
Good mixer but not a sipper
Goes very well with Coke, but not the most enjoyable sipping rum.
Smith and Cross
Complex flavour, but not a sipping rum
This rum has a very unique flavour profile to just about any rum that I’ve had. However, the burn on this when sipping neat is far too harsh to recomm
Definitely not a sipping rum...
...but tastes great in a rum & coke. It’s a good value for a mixer but don’t expect much more than that.
Definitely a decent mixer
Fairly average taste, but certainly very drinkable with coke.
Better than most other Bacardi rums
Probably deserves a 5, but is getting an extra point because it’s Barcardi and so I expected it to be more crap. Definitely a mixer, not recommended f
Good mixer, average rum
Pretty standard mixer that’s a bit better than most other standard mixers.
Good mixer and very different from other spiced rums
I'm not sure I agree with the *very* high ratings on this rum, but it is good and very drinkable when mixed (not so great straight, but drinkable.) I
5 Star Fine
Good standard mixer
There's nothing very special with this one, but it's a good mix and standard bar-rail in Barbados. If you're there, I'd get the far-superior Mount Ga
Good for mixed drinks
The anejo is better, but this is still good for rum and cokes.
Not too great but not bad either. A good run of the mill rum for mixing.
Too much burn for the price
Tasty rum but I would not expect this much burn for the price point. Still definitely sippable, though.
Pretty fly for a white... rum
This is definitely not a good sipping rum, but if you're a fan of white rum for mixing, it's definitely more palatable than Lamb's or Bacardi.
More drinkable than regular Captain Morgan
But not by much. The spices and vanilla flavouring mask some of the badness.
Getting Screeched In sucks
This really isn't very sippable, so doing a shot is rather nasty. Drinkable if mixed, but not great.
Terrible taste is masked nicely by coconut flavouring. Cheap and crummy.
Only slightly better than regular Bacardi
Only really fit for mixing when the flavour is highly masked.
Hints of rubbing alcohol
Awful bar rail standard that should be avoided if possible.
Leaves an aftertaste in your mouth that reminds me of rubbing alcohol and a terrible hangover.
Would have given it a zero if possible
This may be good for stripping paint, but definitely not for drinking. Tried sipping this and nearly threw it up. It would have been better if I did
