Part 2 of my sadistic girlfriends attempt to poison me! I have tried so many of these putrid Bacardi flavored rums I figured out the recipe. Take paint thinner and add 3 drops of that horrible flavored Starbucks coffee syrup. Voila!! Bacardi flavored rum! This would take the paint off your house and give a chemical fruit smell all at the same time!

Okay, you just finished your meal and feel that urgent need to munch on a sweet dessert? Then that's the rum for you, right there! Very light, the burn is almost non-existent and only 35%. Smells of orange hints and of liquer, in general. The taste is like biting something sweet, feels like eating a cinnamon pie. Couldn't discern the entire range of spices, but is aromatic and very, very sweet! Velvety feel, stuff is downed particularly easily, to the point you feel like gulping greedily away at it! Nothing memorable, total absence of aftertaste, too. Still, i like it way more than a Reserva Exclusiva, at least this shows some things and is more interesting to both sniff and drink. Don't ask me to sip that on special occasions, though. Is certainly going to help in my diet; i no longer crave sweets, post 30 ml of this, served right after dinner or supper!
Plantation 2011 Barbados 9-Year review posted over 3 years ago by Montal Romania 🇷🇴 | 20 ratings
4.5 years in tropical climate (Barbados) and 4.5 years in continental climate (France -Javrezac near Cognac)
Even if it has 51.1 ABV, you can barely feel them, it doesn't burn you at all
It's like a journey, gentle at first and very fruity on raisins and walnut, it then becomes stronger and dryer with tons of chocolate, caramel, vanilla and nutmeg with some dried flowers and cooked fruits and citrus peel building up sip after sip.

@ kudzey your fallernum sounds great, like a spiced rum with your favourite ingredients. I use some spiced rum in the wintertime to mix it with hot apple juice usually Kraken and for x-mas Bristol Black. @ Rum Funk no cold season in Singapore to drink hot drinks, I think. Dos Maderas Luxus review posted over 3 years ago by Thomas Breuning Denmark 🇩🇰 | 243 ratings

Only 750 bottels made. Nose of berry, cinnamon and chocolate. Taste of berry and vanilla. Sweet and tasty. Good finish. At first a little disappointed because I love Niña. But after I direct comparison I realized that Santa Maria is way better. I probably give a 10 when I open my limited bottle.
Rum Nation Panama Limited Edition 10-Year review posted over 3 years ago by Thomas Breuning Denmark 🇩🇰 | 243 ratings
Navy Island XO Reserve 6-Year review posted over 3 years ago by Christian Luxembourg 🇱🇺 | 54 ratings
This Navy Island has a very nice golden color. At first smell I was like 'omg what a crap'. But I gave it a chance to develop its flavours. It needs to breathe and then you get the apple and pear notes with a light sweetness. Same procedure for the taste. Give this rum its time to develop its flavours and you won't be disappointed. Not my favourite but definitely a very interesting rum. Tip: add a few drops of water to it.
After tasting around, I found out, that for me, this rum is the perfect match for a Cuba libre. 10 out of 10
Therefore 6 in my final note.
Mount Gay XO Extra Old review posted over 3 years ago by Peter841 Slovakia 🇸🇰 | 12 ratings
From the colour you would think about a dry high quality spirit and by taste you would not be dissappointed. Firstly its quite a strong one maybe because of the 43%. Smell: dried fruits and banking spicies.Taste: tones of coconut and wood. Perfect for experienced rum lover.

Mount Gay XO Extra Old review posted over 3 years ago by Vyacheslav Russian Federation 🇷🇺 | 8 ratings
Mount Gay Extra Old rum has a rich amber color with a reddish tint. The aroma is quite strong and expressive, with notes of banana, ripe apple, cinnamon, vanilla, pepper, orange peel, caramel. The taste is bright, not too soft and even somewhat scalding (although I would not call it coarse), slightly sweet, with notes of spices and dried fruits.
The finish is long lasting, with notes of vanilla / oak. Overall, a good, very interesting rum.

So my girlfriend has decided whenever and wherever she sees Bacardi miniatures she will buy them for me. She knows I think Bacardi is downright swill. She also knows I will rate them. In order to rate them I have to drink them. She loves watching me get that pained medicine face after I taste one of these. Cant just one of these be good????? This one tastes like melted Twizzler candy and kerosene. Really harsh!

El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year review posted over 3 years ago by Christian Luxembourg 🇱🇺 | 54 ratings
The El Dorado Special Reserve 15 Year is for me the rum that gives me the most pleasure each time I take a sip. It's difficult to compare rums, because they are all so different and there are no existing quality standards. So, in the end, the rating is decided by the taste of the customer. And this one is my favorite so far. Very nice aromas of caramel, vanilla and a hint of chocolate. In the mouth with sweet but not too sweet taste, smooth and not burning. The price is about 60€ a bottle, but worth it with every drop.

This was my hardest rating so far. It is difficult to go beyond the impressions I had with previous Plantation experiences. I would like to ask to anyone who rated this less then 7 to do a blind taste with this one and tell me what is the rating of this one. It can't be less than 7. First the nose: it is fruity, funky, but it lacks that typical solvent you can find in most Jamaicans. That for me is a pro. You can smell the cognac finish, but that's not a problem too. In the mouth in the first sip it does not kick you like a mule, and that was disappointing at first, but then it opened its variety of flavors: bananas, raisins, pineapple, lot of funk. The hogo is there, it is not covering all other sensations, it is just there, chilling. That would be an 8, if it wasn't for the finish. Long. Super long. Hell I've already washed my teeth and I can still feel it. It is very dry, very Jamaican, may be difficult to accept that the French did a better Jamaican rum than some Jamaican ones. But if you can go beyond that prejudice, you will find a very good rum wanting for you.
