Barcelo Imperial rum is produced in the Dominican Republic using column stills before aged in white oak casks for up to 10 years.
Ron Barcelo was founded in 1929 by Spanish entrepreneur Julian Barcelo in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The brand was sold mainly in the Caribbean and North America until a much broader international expansion began in 1992.
Cena u nas 20eur!?
:) vynikajuci vtip! Navyse s krasnou flasou!
Tak v pomere cena hodnota je tento rum absolutna svetova spicka.
Rum ma urcite obrovsku fanusikovsku zakladnu kedze je velmi dobre vybalancovany! Nicoho v nom nieje prehnane a nic v nom nechyba.
Just walking arround the rack with rums and wondering what will be the Best choise of value / price …. Finally take this Barcelo Imperial Ron Domenicano… wow…. Really good rum for prox 23 €….
Go and try as well 😉
A nice box and bottle are fitting for this medium mahogany rum.
On the nose is a good amount of cask with a bit of burnt sugar.
Tasting is good with a lot of oak, caramel and a mild burn.
$45 @ LCBO was a good deal.
Note: I'm a sipper. My opinion is based on sipping characteristics.
There's possibility one might dislike it at first, as it is not newbie friendly. That was my experience the first time, as it was one of my very early bottles and had me unprepared. At 38% vol one thinks the experience should be mild-ish. Rich sweet aromas that go all over the place once you open the bottle contribute to that feeling and it's just the moment you take a sip when you realize this one bites. And it might be quite a shock. Then a couple years later I thought I'd retry it and my experience was entirely different and it was my expectations that let me down back then, rather than its characteristics. So to me now, this is technically on par even with Flor de Caña 12 and the likes.
