I was really impressed by the bottle, and the rum is a decent smooth relatively dry rum. Smells and tastes of oak, almonds, spice, and maple. Another great expression from Puerto Rico.

Fantastic packaging with a nice nose, this rum want to be a mid plus sipper but not for me. Some nut smells and woods make the aroma appealing but on the tongue the burn is predominate and hangs with you.

A different kind of mixer with the rum not adding. Best with citrus, typical of a drier rum, but lost in Coke. Once again I did not blend it but do not think there is anything there for most drinks.

Not a bad rum just not above average and is priced to be something special; not in my long term plans.

This had a nice smooth flavor profile without a lot of sweetness. Not super complex, but some nice subtle flavors. Could be a sipper or a high-end mixer. I paid $17 for this at โ€œThe Houseโ€ in San Juan, PR. The manager mentioned this is a great aged rum that is affordable and mostly produced for local consumption. It is not widely available outside of PR, which is probably why I see some people complaining about the price ($35-45) on the mainland. Maybe I need a larger suitcase for my next trip ;-)

The colour is quite light for an 12 year old rum.
What i really like about this dry rum is that it is very soft. Taste a little wood a little bitter, nuts, just an easy sipper.

This rum is hard to find. It hold a family business persona. Easy to drink, yet plenty of flavors are sensed.

I was given this bottle. At first I assumed it was no good, but I was wrong. A classic PR rum. Subtle nose with some hints of burnt sugar, light bodied with offerings of oak on a clean, dry palette and a similarly dry finish. Itโ€™s a little heavy on alcohol for 80 proof, but all in all a nice rum. A nice representation of PR style of rum.

This Puerto Rican rum is an unsweetened rum aged for at least 12 years in oak and bottled in a very beautiful shaped bottle.
Trigo has a amber colour, and an aroma of almonds and oak.
At the palate is oak, toffee and nutty hints recognizable. Itโ€™s very smooth but overall too weak in my opinion but the finish lasts quite long even though itโ€™s so weak.

First of all Iโ€™m not a huge fan of Puerto Rican rums but have not tried it yet. Beautiful bottle with wired cap like champagne, so letโ€™s give it a try. On the nose I canโ€™t find hardly anything not even alcohol burn, but I just sampled Ten to One dark and 17. On the tongue neat mild brown sugar with a mild bananas foster linger. Light Amber color on ice it mellows even more. All in all itโ€™s beyond my expectations and easy to drink little to no burn but not too complex

This is one of those rums where you have to taste it twice to actually get the flavor. The first has a very stringent bite with a hint of vanilla that can put some people off...but after your tongue has been stimulated the flavors start coming together oakiness and toffee with a hint of woody just a little bit but overall not bad. As a sipper I can't recommend it to everyone especially with the aroma and that first sip but if you mix this with another rum with a little more body to it you can get something pretty good ๐Ÿ‘
