I used to think this was the gold standard for all rum...ah those were the days. I would sit in a hammock in Belize thinking I had found the Golden secret to rum. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great rum for the price. You can definitely sip this neat in a hammock in the Caribbean for an immersive experience. The nose is vanilla, caramel, and brown sugar. It has a wonderful deep caramel mid-palate, unfortunately the burn just ultimately drowns out the beautiful notes the rum is trying to play. If they could dial down the burn, this would be a real winner.
*Update* this rum does not age well at all. 6 months after opening the rum is no longer clear and the taste has become harsh without the pleasantries of the caramel. Accordingly it must get docked a point.

I expected to like this rum more than I did, as it was described to me as a sweet gold rum, which sounded good, as most gold rums aren't sweet enough for me. But this kind of let me down.
Smells and tastes of toffee and sweet caramel. Very artificial, without much rum flavor. Too young to taste any barrel aging. Has a slight alcohol burn. Not really my kind of rum.
This was not great rum, but I will say it is authentic. If you happen to be on a cruise that stops in Belize, you simply have to boost the local economy by taking a city or jungle tour that just happens to stop at The Travellers Distillery. You can’t argue with free samples and you get to experience a taste of the country. I like to think this is as close to the original “moonshine” of rum as it gets, the kind of stuff real pirates of the Caribbean would have longed for. Hey when in Rome!
It isn’t the best. But fairly good sipping. I haven’t had their others. This looks slightly different than the pic .. black front label w gold
Smells sweetish. Taste is also, a little syrupy. Then the flavor smooths out & is mild but a bit of molasses and almost Jamaican funk.
This isn’t bad to me. I figure if I rank something below a 5 it’s saying it is bad.
Does linger a bit and some heat. Still fine. Especially since my friend brought it from Belize for me and was under $15..? Value
Mladý a divoký rum z Barbadosu. Setkal jsem se ním v práci, kde bude dále ponechán aby zrál v dubových sudech. Ale i přes svou mladost a divokost má charakter, který stojí za ochutnání.
Good for a Rum & Coke. Don’t drink near. Caramel notes.
Definitely has sweetener added. Likely coloring as well. It’s a little rich for my preference but it’s not bad. Vanilla, oak, and tobacco on the pallet with a nice marshmallow finish.
It’s lighter in color than other dark rums. I like it on ice, smooth, strong oak flavors, a hint of vanilla. Doesn’t bite. I could sip on it for a while and enjoy it.
A popular rum in Belize. I'd drink it happily if it was all that was available, but not one I'd buy off the shelf. The label design makes it a good gift option if you are bringing a bottle back for the boss!

A small gem 7 out of 10
This rum is meant to be a mixing level rum, but is able to be enjoyed neat if you wish.
