This was the rum used in most of the mixers my wife and I got down in Nassau, and overall it's a pretty good rum. It's definitely worth buying a couple bottles at the duty free to throw in your carry on going home. Slightly better tasting than a captain. Mixed with coke, it's just a good tasting rum.

Picked it up a few years ago in the Caribbean. Used it mostly for cocktails when I have guest over at my bar. I have several better Spiced Rums that is better for sipping.

Can you make a stop to any of the Caribbean islands, visit the Tortuga Rum Cake factory and be lured into the free tasting of the Tortuga 'rums' ? Not really, so let's get straight to business. The Tortuga Spiced has a very strong alcohol taste and a nasty burn at the end, so not recommended to be a neat sipper.

Tortuga being the brand that it is I though I would be getting something of higher caliber. I was proven wrong. the bottle was like $25 and not worth it to me. I have had better for less.

It's drinkable but I gave to my son.

Had a sample in the Caynans. Not bad for mixing with cola.
