Front end has whiskey bite, then smoothes with a sweet run finish. Best run cake ever

Nose is alcohol forward tears up the eyes, taste is smoother than expected Smoky with a little too much burn on the finish, sippable if you like strong bourbons or foursquares

The eenjoyably body, aroma and taste this rum makes it one of my workhorses when mixing up some simple cocktails. It works great in mojitos and light summertime rum punches.

Char forward! A rum for bourbon drinkers. Sipable, with caramel and Oakey notes.

Initial nose suggested hints of orange, cinnamon and molasses. Early oil on the tongue but leads to tangy, spicy throat with smokey and earthy tones. Nice sipper or mixer!

If you’re in Newport, it’s worth a tour and sample at the Thomas Tew distillery (Newport Storm brewery). They’re quite knowledgeable and I like that they’re local to me. The flavor of Thomas Tew tastes like a New England fall molasses, which is great and really speaks to the area. In terms of the history behind rum in Newport and how they’ve conceived the product, I think it’s really interesting - Perhaps more interesting than the rum itself.

If you like Bourbon then you will like this rum and if you like mixed rum drinks then you will love this rum.
It's got some sweetness to it and that counters the strong oak and Bourbon taste from the casks this is aged in. That molasses style sweetness then fades to a slow burn that seems to last for quite some time. Great heat on the back end. It's a strong tasting sipping rum and if you mix it then you are in for a treat. I liked it and would buy it again.

Looks good. Great legs. Nice scent. Tastes like whiskey, so turned it into an OF. No can do.

A wax seal is always a plus. My first Rhode Island rum. I understand the bourbon flavor that has been remarked by others. And a nice oak taste to boot. Good mixed or straight.
