Manly bottle, sorry lassies. Doesn’t indicate abv, though.
Nose is quite scotch. But the palate is def Carib. Decent funk. Surprising long finish. Will buy again. Slainte! to a surprise from Scotland.
Very rich. Lots and lots of molasses flavor from start to finish. Great mouthfeel, and smooth. Depth and body, and a long beautiful finish. Might not be a daily drinker because it is so flavorful, but works well for when you want something heavy.
This is my first English rum.
Nice gold color. I let us sit a bit with a large ball of ice. Taste was warm with hints of vanilla and a subtle sweetness.
Would love to try their older ones.
Superior aroma, hints of chocolate in the aroma. Great smooth upfront flavour on the palate definitely a full tasting rum that falls off on the back of the tongue on a slightly rough note. Lets you know your drinking rum. A nice sipper that I like cold on the rocks but mixed traditionally as a cuba libra was very enjoyable after that. Will be testing their other offerings when I can find them as it took me two months to find and purchase this one.
I haven’t had many navy style rums to compare this one to but that being said I really enjoyed this.
In the glass it’s very dark with a sweet nose of chocolate and caramel with hints of coffee. The first sip is a tad bit bitter but quickly gives way to fruit and strong caramel.
If I had any negative to say is that the price point is a little high for this but since I’ll mostly be using this as a shopper that’s understandable.
Nice notes of chocolate and coffee.
"Quite bitter with lots of treacly molasses and a real array of spices – lots of oak and ginger, with a touch of cinnamon and anise. Finish wise it is a reasonable length."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Not like any other I have. Nose of mixed fruit with a little sharpness. The taste also have some kind of fruit but the best thing is the taste of licorice with a twist of pepper. I like that it is not too sweet and gives me another experience than other Rums. It is probably an 8 than a 9 but I will give it the benefits of doubts.
